FEATURED PROJECT

Mountain View Garden

From heavy machinery damage to a thriving garden: what thoughtful design can do.

← All Projects

This Mountain View project started in the aftermath of heavy machinery damage. Rocks and soil had been scraped and piled, leaving the ground compacted and lifeless. California grass had taken over the disturbed area, choking out any chance of productive growth. We cleared the invasive grass thoroughly and got the site ready for a fresh start.

After clearing, we sheet mulched the area and planted it densely with a mix of edible and flowering plants. The results came fast. In only a few months, barren, damaged ground became a thriving garden. It's still flourishing today with minimal upkeep, proof of what's possible when you work with the land's own recovery instead of against it.
